Applied Information and Assa Abloy have teamed up to offer convenient, intelligent security for roadside cabinets.
The AI-500-035 Lock Control Unit (LCU) provides quick and easy access to traffic cabinets, ensuring unattended cabinets are secured by Assa Abloy locks, and Applied Information's intelligent device integration.
The LCU device connects and controls up to two internal locks in a roadside cabinet. No key or key card is required for operation, as the locks are remotely actuated from the Glance smartphone app when an authorized user is inside the "activation zone." With the two-factor security of the Glance platform, managers can easily unlock cabinets, control access to multiple doors remotely, and know cabinets are always secure with automatic relocking.
The LCU has door status sensors that trigger an alarm in the event of an unauthorized entry. If an alarm is triggered an email or text alert is immediately sent to notify the necessary personnel. The last-gasp power supply also triggers an alarm when the cabinet loses power so an email or text alert can be sent, and an electronic key backup is provided as a failsafe method to control access to a cabinet.
The AI-500-036 Lock Monitoring Unit (LMU) has been engineered to provide a means of adding convenient security to traffic cabinets, by either integrating with existing Applied Information field devices or used in conjunction with the AI-500-035 LCU. The LMU can connect and control two locks in a traffic cabinet when integrated with an Applied Information device, or up to four locks when combined with an AI-500-035 LCU.
Once integrated with an existing device, the LMU can remotely control two Assa Abloy door locks without the use of a key or key card. The unit operates through Applied Information's Glance app. A technician can unlock the cabinet via a two-factor authentication process that requires an authorized user with Glance app credentials to be in proximity to the lock, then the unlock request can be triggered. The LMU relocks the cabinet automatically after a configured period. An electronic key backup is provided as a failsafe method to lock and unlock the cabinet.
The LMU is equipped with sensors that monitor the door status and trigger alarms in the event of an unauthorized entry. If an alarm is triggered an email or text alert is immediately sent to notify the necessary personnel.
